THE GLASS HOUSE

Edged mirrors produced for the Summer party 9/6/2018, edition of 15

Thank you for joining us on Saturday, June 9th as we celebrated the start of the season with our annual Summer Party fundraising event. With generous support from Houlihan Lawrence, Howard Hughes Corporation / Seaport District NYC, Janice Parker Landscape Architects and logistical support provided by SRI Fine Art Services, the Summer Party featured a farm-to-table picnic by South End, rosé by Whispering Angel, lawn games, music, and a highly curated auction powered by Paddle8. Tesla provided transportation between the parking area and the Glass House. Guests also had the exclusive opportunity to view a Tesla Model X on display during the event. The event featured the music of Philip Glass + John Cage performed by Brooklyn Rider.

This year guests had the opportunity to enjoy a new exhibition in the Painting Gallery of work from the Glass House permanent collection, some of which has not before been shown to the public. Guests also had the opportunity to preview a new virtual reality experience that simulated the restored interior of the Brick House, which remains closed and requires much needed restoration.

The Summer Party benefit auction, powered by Paddle8 included works by Andrea Zittel, Dustin Yellin, Lawrence Weiner, Lindsey Adelman, The Haas Brothers, Rita Ackermann, luxury trip packages and many more unique art and design items.
This year’s Summer Party artist, Jenny Holzer, created two limited edition mirrors in support of the Glass House.
