22nd Show of porcelain and glass painters

GENERAL INFORMATION
-The porcelain and glass painting Show is open to professional and amateur painters as well as to traders.
-A special area is available to display your most beautiful pieces «Prestigious pieces area». We strongly advise you to register and submit your pieces on installation day.
-Professional and amateur painters can sell their hand-painted pieces. The sale of any other products is reserved to the « Traders » category. However, by paying a charge, the exhibitors can sell the products that are strictly inherent to their technique such as studies, models, books and so on, provided that such activity does not prevail.
-All exhibitors undertake to sell their products in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.
-A document entitled « Displaying in Switzerland: a practical guide », is available in
English, French and German on request.
-Booking a display table or area implies that the company or the person in charge is in order with the administrations and the commercial national and international
regulations.
-The allocation of display areas and tables is the Responsibility of the Organisation.
Whenever possible, the Organisation shall meet the wishes of exhibitors.
-The exhibitors who wish to display framed work, must supply their display stands or hire a display panel (height 170 cm x width 70 cm) . It is forbidden to hand anything whatsoever on the walls.
-The tables (180 x 80 cm) shall be booked at the time of registration. It shall be
impossible to get tables on site.

DATES OF THE EXHIBITION
From 17th to 19th October 2014
OPENING HOURS OF THE EXHIBITION
Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m to 6 p.m
Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm
INSTALLATION
Thursday, October 16th, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The exhibitors themselves shall install their own display areas. The display tables shall be covered with a plain dark cloth. The exhibitors who do not have their own table cloth may use a navy blue cloth supplied by the Organisation.
-Please indicate whether you need such cloth when you register.
-The information on the installation shall be supplied later.
-Friendly opening drink on Thursday, October 19th, at 6 p.m.

DISMANTLING
Saturday, October 19th, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The premises must be completely emptied by, Saturday, October 19th, 9 p.m.

THE WALL OF ARTISTS
The wall of artists is a collective exhibition on the topic of FIRE, open to all the exhibitors (not for the participant at the contest). Do not hesitate to enrol.
You will get a porcelain plate 20 cm x 20 cm, to paint your own interpretation of FIRE. Participants allow the Organisation to photograph their paintings and to use the pictures freely.
 
LEGISLATION ON TOXIC PRODUCTS
The products used in porcelain painting such as colours, mixing and painting media, metals, etc are regulated by the Swiss Legislation on toxic products.
The exhibitors undertake not to display, offer as a gift or sell any toxic products, unless they strictly comply with the applicable legislation.
 
CONTEST
-It is not necessary to be an exhibitor to take part in the contest.
-A contest for professional and amateur painters shall be held.
-Topic of the contest: « Cultures of the world »
-President of the Jury: Mr FILIPE PEREIRA (Portugal)
-The following awards shall be assigned: Professional award; Amateur award; the pick of the jury chaiman.
-The participant submits a recent piece, signed and dated that has never been displayed or awarded a prize, on the topic of the contest: « Cultures of the world »
-The signature on the piece must be covered with a label. The signature must by no
means be visible.
-Taking part in the contest gives the right to display a second piece on a free topic, that shall not be submitted to the jury and that shall be displayed in the « Your most
prestigious pieces » area. The support stands and any other equipment shall be
tagged to the name of the exhibitor.
-Shall be excluded from the contest the pieces painted with stickers, transfers, added-on or glued-on items; the pieces painted with non-firing paints or those fired in home ovens; fusing.
-The porcelain items must be fired and any additional piece must be fused on.
-Cracked or chipped items shall be excluded.
-The participant shall supply all the necessary equipment to display the pieces. Such
equipment must tagged to the name of the exhibitor.
-Registration becomes effective at reception by the Organisation of the registration form and payment of 60.- CHF
-The contest pieces shall be submitted on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
-Withdrawal of the pieces: Sunday from 4 p.m.
-The pieces that are not withdrawn in time, shall be shipped back to their owners at their own charge.
-The exhibitors agree that their pieces be photographed by the Organisation and such photos be freely used by the Organisation.
-Presentation, maintenance and display are the exhibitor's entire responsibility. The
Organisation shall not be held liable for theft and/or loss.
-The participant receives a free admission ticket for the entire duration of the show.
-The participant to the contest can choose to attend the gala dinner.
-The results of the contest shall be announced during the gala dinner.
-Publication of all the results on the website: www.mlporcelaine.ch.

CAR PARKING
Parking « La Marive » free.
LIABILITY
The Organisation shall not be liable for damage to or theft of pieces and other items belonging to the exhibitors or visitors before, during and after the show.
The exhibitors shall be liable for damage caused by themselves, their staff or their
representatives to third parties or to the facilities.
Moreover, it is hereby reminded that the goods, the equipment of the display areas, as well as the packaging material are placed in the display halls and facilities of La Marive at their own risk.
 
REGISTRATION – CANCELLATION
The exhibitors undertake to attend the show when they send in their duly signed registration form. We shall provide to send an invoice to be paid at reception. Any claim shall be submitted within ten days after reception of invoice.
In the event of cancellation by the exhibitor, we shall withhold 20% of the total amount of the registration fee. When the cancellation occurs between 4 and 2 weeks before the show, 50% of the registration fee shall be withheld and when the cancellation occurs less than 2 weeks before the show, 100% of the registration fee shall be withheld.
 
GALA EVENING
A gala evening shall be organised on Saturday 18th October at 7 p.m. at Restaurant LA PRAIRIE, Avenue des Bains 9 – 1401 Yverdon-les-Bains – www.laprairiehotel.ch.

This possibility is offered to exhibitors. The choice of the pieces to be displayed behoves to the Organisation.
Bring your pieces on installation day, i.e. Thursday 16th October. Withdrawal of items on Sunday 19th October from 4 p.m.
Leave about 10 business cards with your pieces.
