2015 Festival Masterclass
It’s time to share our news about our 2015 masterclass leaders.
We’re very excited as yet again the line up is really impressive with representation from USA, Netherlands, Germany and UK. The programme of classes covers a range of techniques from Venetian glassmaking led by Dante Marioni from Seattle to sculptural slumping by UK based glass artist Lisa Pettibone.  Each masterclass leader brings with them their very own individual skills and expertise to share, innovate and inspire.

Masterclass leaders and their masterclass focus: 
Dante Marioni and Janusz Pozniac: Off-hand Venetian glassmaking, American style
Cappy Thompson: Contemporary glass painting using grisalle or grey tonal painting technique
Neil Wilkin assisted by James Devereux: Traditional and contemporary hot glass making- towards a flawless technique
Michael Brennand-Wood and Keith Cummings: A laboratory investigating the cross transfer of textile and glass design
Penny Rakov: Innovative murrini making
Christian Schmidt: Freehand wheel engraving
Lisa Pettibone: Adventures in slumping: capturing warm glass movement - moulds, ideas and inspiration
JanHein van Stiphout: 'eco' nomical beadmaking

British Glass Biennale 2015
Venue: The Glasshouse Arts Centre at Ruskin Glass Centre
Date & Time: Open daily 10 - 5pm from 28 May - 28 June.
The British Glass Biennale is the flagship exhibition of the International Festival of Glass and typically features around 100 glass works. It is the UK's most comprehensive selling exhibition of contemporary glass. Please note, there is an entrance fee to the Ruskin Glass Centre during the Public Festival, and therefore the British Glass Biennale, from 28 - 31 May. 
 
Cutting Edge; Contemporary Hungarian Glass
Venue: Broadfield House Glass Museum, Compton Drive, Kingswinford, West Midlands, DY6 9NS
Date: 8 - 31 May 2015
This is a touring exhibition, curated by Attila Sik of Prisma Gallery in Birmingham. The exhibition will travel to Stourbridge from Edinburgh for the International Festival of Glass.

Bruntnell Astley Contemporary Glass
Venue: Wordsley Methodist Church, Steam Road, Kingswinford, DY6 9NP
Date: 25 - 31 May 
Price: Free
An exhibition by some of the finest names in contemporary glass art. There will be works from the Bruntnell Astley online gallery site, and new unseen works in this 'Pop Up' gallery.
