Dirk Schrijvers became interested in the Studio glass movement since the 1980’s. He collects Studio glass and organizes exhibitions on studio glass. Part of his collection is in the Design Museum of Ghent, Belgium. He owns the glass gallery AD Gallery & Consultancy in Antwerp, Belgium.
Since the 1990’s he did write about glass for different glass magazines like Glasbulletin and Fjoezzz. He is specialized in contemporary Belgian, French and Dutch Studio glass artists, contemporary design and architecture.
