As a glass studio staff member, you will share responsibility for daily operations in and the organisation and maintenance of both the hot and the cold glass studio.
-You will give demonstrations of glassblowing, assist other glass artists and, during workshops, introduce visitors and other interested parties to the art of working with hot glass. You will be jointly responsible for the production and finishing of glass products. Your duties will also involve a number of administrative tasks relating to operations in the glass studio.
-You will also provide assistance during the setting up and dismantling of exhibitions.
-You will be working as part of a small team and will regularly participate in team meetings.
Job requirements / candidate profile:
-You have experience of working with hot glass, with a focus on glassblowing and glass casting.
-You have experience in finishing glass, namely in saw-cutting, grinding, polishing and sandblasting
-You have a knowledge of the way a glass studio operates and of its infrastructure
-You are a team player, but are also able to work independently
-You are able to cope with stress
-You are eager to learn and show motivation
-You are meticulous in your work
-You are flexible and have no problems with regularly working at weekends
-You have a basic knowledge of working with computers (Windows / Outlook); knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator will be an advantage
