The store design by Studio Tapiro (Venice) is inspired, like the other company stores, by the first Carlo Moretti store in San Moisè, Venice, designed in 1979 by artist Paolo Martinuzzi in collaboration with Carlo and Giovanni Moretti. The store area covers a surface of 70 square meters on one level with two windows on the street. The store’s display system features dark wenge shelves and anthracite metal structures with clamps supporting the store’s lighting system consisting of vertically suspended spotlights. The walls and the ceiling are in slightly pressed dark grey Venetian marmorino and on the walls are two panels displaying decorative reproductions of the crystal works; for the flooring, dark grey wenge with a slightly veined texture. The choice of using the same raw materials as those used for the factory’s technical furnishings was made to further enhance the pureness of the crystal works. The store also features an LCD touch screen to allow customers to personally search through the collections.
The store display also includes a selection of pieces from the 2016/2017 Cristalli catalogue, from the Fondamentali, Rossomoretti, Contemporanei, Collezioni d’autore, Calici da collezione and Cristalli di Murano collections; Of note is a selection of 60 vases from I Piccoli series, displayed on the large wall and divided into four levels – a solution adding further character to the space. Also on display is a series of lamps from the 2015 – 16 Luce catalogue.
The Tokyo store and showroom (opening in 2016) have been realised in partnership with Manak Corporation, a Japanese company that will also follow the Japanese market as exclusive distributor.
