We are pleased to invite applications for participants in the Second Glaziers’ Art Fair. To apply for a stall please download and complete the application form and submit it by 15 July 2015, which is available here: https://glaziersartfair.com/exhibitors/.
Applicants are asked to read the accompanying FAQs carefully – they form part of the terms and conditions of taking part in the Fair.
Nearly forty exhibitors have already signed up to showcase glass art; together with selected works in other media. There will be opportunities for serious buyers and collectors of art as well as smaller pieces and giftware to suit all pockets.
The Master of the Glaziers’ Company, Duncan Gee, said: “For the second year running, this Fair gives us a unique opportunity to showcase glass artists and promote the craft of architectural glass art.”
Visitors to the event can learn more about the formation of the City Livery Companies, the work of the Glaziers’ Livery Company, the work of its charities and the art of architectural glass art from mediaeval stained glass to cutting-edge buildings today.
Visitors can also look round the home of the Glaziers’ Livery Company, at the only Livery Hall south of the Thames. Close to Southwark Cathedral, the London Bridge Experience and Borough Market, the Hall is built onto London Bridge and its famous River Room overlooks the river itself giving a panoramic view of the City of London.
The Fair is sponsored by Windsor Glass Limited, and is run in association with the Oxford University Society Alumnus Society, OUS London, some of whose artists will also be exhibiting at the Fair.
The Glaziers Company is one of the City of London’s medieval Livery Companies, or craft guilds. The history of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass dates back to 1328. It was incorporated by Royal Charter and granted Livery in 1638. Its present Master is Duncan Gee.
The Company, which plays a full part in the civic life of City of London, maintains strong links with those practising the art and craft as glaziers and painters of glass.
The Glaziers Company is home to the Glaziers Foundation (registered charity number 1143700). One of its primary charitable objectives is to support education and training in the art and craft of stained glass and architectural glass. The annual Stevens Architectural Glass Artist of the Year Competition 2017 launches early autumn 2016.
The charity also supports and makes grants towards the restoration and preservation of important stained glass windows in public buildings in the UK. Glaziers Hall houses the London Stained Glass Repository.
