The CGS “New Graduate Review” will be a 16 page publication, which will be circulated to all C.G.S. Members & Associates, plus via ‘crafts&design’, and ‘Neues Glas - New Glass: Art & Architecture.’ magazines and through ‘CRAFTS’ social media.
This new publication will give C.G.S. an opportunity to showcase work from the talented Prize Winners plus work from several more emerging British graduates.

“The Contemporary Glass Society has successfully run the CGS Student Glass Prize at New Designers for the past six years, but we felt it was now time to expand our remit in order to be more inclusive of graduates who were not able to show at New Designers.
So it was a real pleasure this year to be judging graduates from sixteen different courses, ranging from BTec to Masters course and coming from all corners of the British Isles.
Judging from digital images rather than being able to see the work in reality provided a different set of challenges, but the standard of applicants was exceptionally high, so it was a delight to see all of the work.
This resulting publication represents a snapshot of the best of British art glass coming out of our educational establishments this year, and it is immensely rewarding to see such new and innovative work, as well as such breadth, originality and diversity. "It was such a pleasure to part of the judging panel for the Glass Prize. The standard was really high and shows the depth of talent being produced by our few remaining glass schools. The winners were, of course, well deserved but the Highly Commended and Commended were really close behind. There was such a variety of technique and style it was difficult to choose between everyone. Look, for example, at the contrasting styles and techniques of Carolyn Basing, Jamie Grey and Dovile Grigaliunaite. "I was thoroughly impressed with the selection of entries for this year’s graduate CGS prize. It is reassuring to see that we have such a diverse group of aspiring studio glass artists in the UK that are dedicated to the development of one of the most challenging materials in the world of crafts. Many of the entries were of high standard and many showed us innovative approaches and techniques like Jade Tapson use of screen printing glass powders. Another interesting arena is the use of combining different materials as shown in the stylish results of Becky Dennis sculptures. All judges were impressed and in agreement by the technical abilities of Garton Connor and his conceptual approach to glass art, this was very mature work of international standards.
 
We were all impressed by many of the highly commended graduates work  too and  some are already showing a high level of technical ability and beautiful designs. The UK continuous to have a strong position on the international glass stage that we should be proud of."  Angel Monzon, Vessel Gallery
