Among a lot of other well-managed Swiss designing is book-making! This well-made book with hard cover and open back binding compiles the works by Thomas Woodtli on the occasion of his sixtieth anniversary. The title refers to the images of the works that do not only pleasure us, but can irritate too and show the dark side or show things we did not notice at all. His works are like his vision on the question “why art”: they are possibilities, opportunities to point out aspects of life.
The book is organized with separate chapters on paintings, Geile Grafik (Hot Graphics) as in the Chapter Alltag Hinter Glas (Everyday Life Behind Glass) the works as reversed glass techniques are shown with the text Schmutzige Gläser (Dirty Glasses) by Maria Brehmer. See the PDF. A complete Bio is provided and a page on the authors. Mapping all the works in full colour the book shows the impact of a working life.
