About the award will decide an international jury, which will be this year composed of distinguished experts from the field of glass, as the director of the Czech branch of the auction house Dorotheum Mária Gálová, American sculptor who has been living in Prague since 1998 Karen LaMonte, Latvian artist and glass maker Marta Gibiete, university teacher, historian and theoretician of applied art and design Jaroslav Polanecky, artistic director and co-founder of the glass museum GlazenHuis in Lommel in Belgium Jeroen Maes.
Professional supervisor is Milan Hlaves, head of the collections of glass, ceramics and porcelain in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague (UPM).
Completed online registration form, accompanied by a photo of the present work and it’s abstract in English must be submitted no later than June 21st, 2017 (Wednesday) at midnight CET.
International glass exhibition Stanislav Libensky Award 2017 will take place at DOX Centre for Contemporary Art from September 22nd to November 20th, 2017.

Prague Gallery of Czech Glass was founded in 2007. The Gallery was establised by Marek Vesely.
In addition to the presentation and sale of art glass, Prague Gallery of Czech Glass provides visitors, artists and theorists informal space for meeting with openings, talks and lectures devoted to the history and present of Czech glass art.
On these principles began in 2012 organizing Glass Excellence in the Glass Art – a year-round program of exhibitions accompanied with the opening of a debate with glass makers. In the former mill on soya, which has been renovated into a modern loft, can the public last Tuesday of the month acquainted with the works of young and experienced glass artists.
The prestigious achievement is annually awarded international glass prize Stanislav Libensky Award (since 2009). Prague Gallery of Czech Glass is the initiator and main organizer of the competition, which is open to young artists from around the world, graduates of bachelor or master degree, who in his/her final work used glass. During the 6-year history Prague Gallery of Czech Glass managed to expose 206 authors from 46 schools glass in Prague. 32 nationalities were represented. In connection with the exhibition regularly is organized a rich accompanying program. In recent years is thanks to this activity acquisition policy of the Gallery focused on young international glass presentation. In the Gallery can be seen works by leading Czech glassmakers and international examples of young starting artist.
One of the most important tasks of the gallery is to build a large-scale exhibitions that visitors to the capital city of Prague offered an attractive opportunity to explore the past and present of Czech and international glass.
