Le Prix européen des arts appliqués / European Prize for Applied Arts
Cette récompense vise les meilleures créations d’expression contemporaine dans le domaine des Arts appliqués au niveau européen. Ce concours, au rythme de triennales, fait l’objet d’expositions organisées par le WCC·BF depuis 2009 dans la Grande halle du site des Anciens Abattoir de Mons en Belgique. Les participants à l’exposition, le lauréat du Prix Maître d’Art remis par le WCC·BF et celui du Prix Jeune Talent remis par le WCC-Europe, sont choisis par un jury d’experts internationaux sur base de critères de mérite artistique, maîtrise technique et innovation.
This reward targets the best creations with contemporary expressions in the Applied Arts' field at the European level. This contest, at a rate of the triennial, is subject to exhibitions organized by the WCC•BF since 2009 in the Grand Halle, on Anciens Abattoir site, Mons, Belgium. Exhibition's participants, the Art Master Prize awarded by the WCC•BF winner and the Young Talent Prize awarded by the WCC•BF winner, are chosen by a jury composed of international experts on the basis of criteria of artistic merit, technical ability and innovation..
La thématique : Monumentalité - Fragilité* / Theme: Monumentality – Fragility
Les auteurs sont invités à se pencher sur le caractère paradoxal de ces deux termes qui ont également été soumis aux artistes lors de l’appel à candidatures pour l’exposition.
Monumentalité : caractère monumental résultant des dimensions mais aussi des proportions et du style ; magistral, puissant, imposant, solennel, important, sublime.
Fragilité : caractère délicat, éphémère, instable, précieux, précaire, vulnérable, frêle, tendre, faible, fin, raffiné…
The authors are invited to focus on the paradoxical nature of these two words which were submitted to the artists at the time of the exhibition participation call.
Monumentality: monumental character being the result of the dimension but also the proportions and style; masterful, powerful, impressive, solemn, important, sublime…
Fragility: delicate character, short-lived, unstable, precious, precarious, vulnerable, frail, tender, weak, thin, refined…
