Beginning august 2013, Glass and Ceramics are taught in the FormLab subject
Engelsholm Folk High School for Arts and Music starts new subject under the name FormLab, a form laboratory for glass, ceramics, plaster and concrete. FormLab is inspired by SuperFormLab established at The School of Design in Copenhagen.
The purpose of FormLab is to work with a wide field of applications of materials, ranging from the design of everyday objects to architectural components, sculptures and decorations. Within individual projects can be chosen material, which allows you either to immerse yourself in each material, or test different materials such as ceramics or glass.
FormLab is for those of you who are considering an education in art, design, architecture or crafts. As a student at the school's FormLab you have access to workshops in the areas of: ceramics, glass blowing, cold glass, plaster, screen printing, as well as the opportunity for 3D printing. You get your own workplace, and access to the workshops around the clock.
Teachers are professionals, artists, designers and craftsmen. The permanent teachers at FormLab are ceramist Claus Domine Hansen, and glass designer Marie Retpen. Besides that you will be taught by guest lecturers from home and abroad.
As cooperation and sparring partners for the establishment and development of FormLab we are in constant dialogue with educators from institutions such as The School of Design in Copenhagen and Bornholm.
