Adelaide, the state capital has long been a centre of contemporary glass in Australia. Artists and craftspeople are attracted to the glass studies courses at the University of South Australia and The JamFactory contemporary craft and design centre, located adjacently in the city centre.
Adelaide is a city of more than one million residents nestled between white sand beaches and the Mt Lofty Ranges. It has an international airport serviced by many airlines. The conference venue is a short distance from the Art Gallery of South Australia, the South Australian Museum, Tandanya Aboriginal Visual Arts Centre, leading restaurants and public transport hubs.
The Adelaide area is highly regarded for local wines and its proximity to the wineries of the Southern Vales and the Barossa Valley. It is also the direct gateway to the Flinders Ranges National Park, Uluru [Ayers Rock], Alice Springs and the outback.
With such a diverse landscape & culturally enriched population we look forward to welcoming Artists, Makers & Craft Practitioners from the global glass community to share our passion of glass by bridging the gap through creativity.
