OPEN CALL FOR ENTRIES

STUDENTS AND GRADUATES FROM THE GLASS WORKSHOP AT THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF ART!

In 2013 Berlin Glas e.V. teamed up with the Glass workshop of the Australian National University to support three graduates in applying for the Australian Government Endeavour Scholarships. One of the three applicants was successful in receiving support and will undertake a four-month residency at Berlin Glas e.V. from July until the end of October 2014. The Endeavour Scholarships are about to open again for funding support in 2015 and we would like to identify and support three graduates or current post graduates from the Glass workshop to apply.

Our mutual goal is to create opportunities for graduates or current postgraduates from the Glass Workshop at the ANU to undertake a residency at the studio in Berlin. The residency will be centered equally on creative and professional development. By sending graduates to Berlin, we hope to foster professional development opportunities, offer dedicated research time and to offer a cultural exchange to an emergent high profile venue in Germany´s capital city.

The Scholarship is seen as a mutual exchange and both Berlin Glas e.V. and the Glass Workshop will assist the three selected candidates making application for this award. We will also work with the candidates to identify research, professional development and teaching opportunities as part of their residency. The residency at Berlin Glas e.V. can be between 2 – 4 months. On completion of the residency the candidates will be invited to be an artist in resident at the ANU Glass Workshop. The residency at the ANU school of Art can be 2-6 weeks.
It is expected that successful candidates will make a contribution to the teaching or research culture of Berlin Glas e.V by offering demonstrations, classes or other opportunities for cultural exchange.
