VEVDL’s work features in museums and galleries across the globe. The team also initiates and designs exhibitions and spatial concepts for public buildings. As enthusiastic advocates of Dutch design, they often participate in debates and brainstorms, and are frequently asked to give lectures or teach. While VEVDL is involved in a broad range of areas, one thing characterises their work: there is always an extra layer – something to make you look twice. Their aim? To create an experience that engages, astounds and opens eyes as well as minds. Volvo Design Challenge Volvo constantly invests in the future – and in young designers. The Volvo Design Challenge
Moves Us motto. A jury of industry professionals including VEVDL, will select the ten best entries. These will be presented at a leading design venue at the end of 2014, together with the Volvo Design Collection by VEVDL. The ten finalists will also receive professional feedback from the jury and a production budget of 2,500 euros to further develop their design. The winning design, to be announced during the exhibition, will receive an extra development prize of 5,000 euros.
The Volvo Design Challenge is open to students of design and art academies or Dutch universities. All disciplines are welcome. Designers who have graduated up to five years ago are also invited to take part.
