“
Glass allows us to build up a harmony between shapes and penetrating light, and to thus define the essence of light - space and to touch the secret of this space.

“Libenský / Brychtová: Light through Space” includes seventeen sculptures, representing the stylistic and thematic uniqueness of the artists’ oeuvre. Six reverse-relief glass panels, depicting animals are from an early series by the artists. Featured in the exhibition is a group of three sculptures, Space I, II, and III, which reveals the artists’ search for new spatial relationships, allowing insight into the discovery of inner spaces articulated visually by the penetration of light.
“Libenský / Brychtová: Light through Space” is the third presentation of the artists’ work in Armenia, selected from the Gerard L. Cafesjian Collection which is recognized as possessing the greatest number of large Libenský/Brychtová sculptures in the world. The exhibition organized in celebration of Jaroslava Brychtová’s 90th birthday anniversary, is an appropriate tribute to the couple, whose long, creative collaboration elevated glass as a fine art medium to a new and dramatic aesthetic for modern sculpture”, said Vahagn Marabyan, the Acting Executive Director of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts.
