CATALOGUE STANISLAV LIBENSKY AWARD 2014

The Prague Gallery of Czech Glass (PGCG) has already organized it’s fifth year of the competitive international exhibition of art universities graduate’s Stanislav Libenský Award.

The prestigious international exhibition of glass for students of art schools, the Stanislav Libenský Award, the only one in the world in which only new graduates can apply, has already organized its sixth year. The fame and reputation of the competition and exhibition increases every year, as well as the interest of the participants and the professional and general public. This year young artists from many countries applied, for example, for the first time from Romania, India and Canada. The exhibition of 39 works including award-winnings is presented in the gallery Art Salon S in the Dancing House on the riverside of the Vltava in the centre of Prague and will take place from 19th September to 14th December 2014.

The catalogue is made well. The text by Katerina Capkova and Milan Hlaves starting the content describing The Stanislav Libensky Award’s history, followed by small texts by all former jury members, giving insight in the process of selecting through the years and then showing the selected artists and their works in smaller black and white photos and text in the edition 2014 Stanislav Libensky Award. Half way the catalogue an essay by Oldrich Palata and photo sculpture on Stanislav Libensky and Jaroslava Brychtová show how strong their sculptures still work today, followed by page large photos in full colour showing the selected works from which the final winner is chosen. These works are in the exposition in the gallery Art Salon S in the Dancing House from 19th September to 14th December 2014, see Agenda>

Good to read to understand the goal of the award and good to have to follow these  young students from this start through their professional life.
