Lundgaard earned her PhD from the Faculty of the Humanities, at Copenhagen University (1999) in interdisciplinary studies – art history, philosophy and literary theory – and has since pursued a diverse career. Courses she has taught include Edvard Munch and The Inter-relationship of Painting, Photography, and Literature 1870-1920 and lectures on The Photography of Edvard Munch and August Strindberg.
Additionally, Lundgaard has worked with horses, curated poets for Nordisk Lyrik Festival (Nordic Festival of Poetry) and freelanced in software testing, photography, web design, programming and communications.
Lundgaard has recently begun to exhibit her photographs in Denmark and continues to exhibit in the U.S. In 2011 and 2012, exhibits of Lundgaard’s photographs included two solo shows at Galleri Øckenlund, Frederiksberg, Denmark and two group exhibits in Boston galleries at Samsøn Projects and NKG. Several art photos have been published in different magazines, among them a front page photograph in the quarterly Danish magazine Byggeriet. Future plans include a solo exhibit in December 2013, at Galleri North, Copenhagen, Denmark.
