It is with great enthusiasm that Catherine Labonté accepted the challenge. While thanking the members of the Board of Directors and the departing President for their shared confidence in her capabilities, the newly-elected President stated with optimism: "I begin this new mandate with confidence, knowing that I will be able to count on the support, dynamism, and competence of Espace VERRE’s Board of Directors, Executive Director and administrative team. I intend to continue the work of advancing Espace VERRE as the leading light of glass art in Quebec, all the while supporting the glass artist community."
The traditional and festive corn roast following the General Assembly was the perfect occasion to simultaneously toast Ms. Turbide’s departure and Ms. Labonté’s incoming election. To mark this transition, a glass piece was created under the departing President’s directives, using the accomplished skills of the newly-elected President supported an assisting team. A truly symbolic passing of the blowpipe – in guise of passing of the torch!
The Espace VERRE team wishes to thank its collaborators, and most particularly, the members of its Board of Directors, whose investment is fundamental to its success. Espace VERRE is a non-profit organization with the mission of supporting Quebec’s glass art community by means of education, promotion and offering services to professional glass artists.
